Re: Negative masses in the simulator?

The other day I was doing some random maths and I found myself with a small, yet obvious realization. It had to do with negative masses. Basically I found out something pretty cool. Using Newton's formula for measuring gravity, I came to the following conclusions: First of all, a negative mass expe...

Re: Challenge: Model Solar System

Yes, good catch there. I went through your math, and ran that simulation with a stopwatch, and found the same discrepancy. And you've got the reason right. It turns out the 'time' in the simulator doesn't exactly match the 'time' in the outside world. There's a conversion you have to do. So, digging...

Re: Evolution Simulator

Interesting... Though with "mutations now happen with a bit more likelihood where the need to happen", I'm not sure it's "purely" evolution now :P I think it should still count as it. Yeah, that's a good point, and a question I've had to ask myself more than once. What is accept...

Re: Evolution Simulator

Ah, I see what that was. As far as the fitness function was concerned, the 'reset' wasn't deleting the towers. So once the goal was blocked, it was always blocked. That's fixed now. I also improved the mutations to speed things up. First, mutations now happen with a bit more likelihood where the nee...

Re: Evolution Simulator

Alright, a new and improved version ! There are more creatures per round, they appear a lot more rapidly, and thus evolution speeds up a bit. Most importantly, I changed the fitness function. Now, instead of 'breeding' based on the as-the-crow-flies distance, the sim treats the towers as impassable ...

Re: A small math problem I found myself with...

Yeah, I think ARP has found a good explanation of this one. It looks like it's one of those cases of needing to be extra careful with particular operations. (Kind of how like you can't just square both sides of an equation and then act like you didn't... since then x = 1 becomes x^2 = 1, and if we s...

Re: Release date?

No official release date yet, Chemi. It's getting close to being physically done & playable. And then I'll be trying to find a sponsor for it before I release it (which will take a bit of time, too). So somewhere around 6 weeks away? If you'd like to get a sneak peek, I'm always accepting new p...

Re: This weird level I made

11! (For diagonal 2, just to be clear) I think we're getting close on that one... we're at least within 10 moves of perfect. I got 11 too! I think this is the perfect. Edit: If I may add this: [Diagonal 3:0:taaadazhadddaazzaamaaaztdaatadazadadadamaaamaaaasddaadda] I got.. 152  Electrons every...
