Re: One reason why you should add a way to view space-time c

Stars could have "lifetimes", so that after a certain time has passed, they explode and collapse. You could also put "life" on planets, then see how long it survives. Andy, you have two options unless you want us to break into your house: Start coding this. Now. Or teach us how to code because I WA...

Re: One reason why you should add a way to view space-time c

Space-time Curve? Do you mean that in a general relativistic sorta way? Or are you just talking about drawing the topography of the gravity wells? By the by, I couldn't find much in the way of "non r^-2 LP discussion", but a quick back-of-the-envelope check showed me that there *are* indeed Lagrange...

Ha, those are wonderful -- I can't believe I forgot about his birthday!

Try this one on for size:

Edit: Ah, forgot to input the perfect. (Fear not, it isn't really zero)

Re: The List

I made the mistake of skipping the tutorial when I first played KSP. I mean, who needs instructions to fly spacecraft?! I *make* games, I got this... Whoa, was that a bad choice. Word to the wise, do not skip that tutorial. (I think just about every key on the keyboard is involved in piloting the sp...

I'll be selling my upcoming App "Pocket Quantum Handbag" for a mere 1 million dollars. That's a steal as far as quantum handbags go!

Re: This weird level I made

Oh hell yeah. These aren't levels in the flash versions, but in the iOS version definitely. The one that springs to mind is in Chapter 3 (3-30 to be precise)... and involves decaying taus and muons into a bunch of particles, and blowing up boxes. Not only do you create tons of particles, the level a...

Re: New Levels

It's almost like we're talking about a different game (which isn't a bad thing!). Kind of like a (very, very basic) incredible machine (or incredibots, which you guys just introduced me to). You put in components and see what happens in the relativistic world. That could lead to some interesting puzz...

Re: This weird level I made

Yeah, the solver does both those things. (So I suppose in my example above, step 1 would just have 2 states). Even so, the number of active states can be tremendous.

Luckily, very few of the game's official levels had this issue.

Re: New Levels

Well, maybe instead of echoing, the waves could activate other beacons they encounter, making them send off a wave, too. You could make some kind of light-clock, then... and that might lead to some interested game mechanics if you make beacons switches. You want your roar to reach Beacon A (which op...

Re: This weird level I made

Yikes, just as I feared, this one broke the solver! As a background, the solver works by, step by step, compiling all the possible states of the game in one (growing) list. So, at step 0 it has one state (the starting state). At step 1 it has 3 states (the starting state and the two possible moves y...
