Re: New Levels
Maybe something like a 'photonic roar'... where the raptor releases a spherical (ahem, circular) wavefront of light. You can see the waves propagate away from you on the screen. Other objects could release such waves, too. It would certainly be a nice extension to the Doppler Shift discussion.

Re: This weird level I made
No link, actually. It just exists on my computer -- a program someone made for me that can crunch through (most) levels.
I'm happy to plug in levels as requested. Down the road, if I become a bottleneck, I'd also consider releasing the solver to a wider circle.

Re: Evolution Simulator
And the fitness function is kind of weird. Yeah, I think that's the core of the problem. At the moment, it is simply 'who gets closer as the crow flies.' But of course, that is very likely to bring the creatures to some dead-end that is near the goal... instead of getting them to wind around passag...

Re: Calling all Suggestions
I suppose we could add gravitational or effective potentials, to show things like Lagrange points. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Lagrange_points2.svg/400px-Lagrange_points2.svg.png Would be cool, but might slow down rendering a bit. What is a Lagrange point? Is it just a ...

Ah, the trick is that guests count, too. So any Joe Schmo that swings by the forum to take a peek will count towards the 'users online' number. For the record, though, I sincerely question that '27' number. Most must have been bots or something, since that traffic didn't show up anywhere else (googl...

Re: Evolution Simulator
Since I'm apparently easy-to-distract... this evening I made a quick prototype of this game style. Very, very basic, just enemies that come in and have a path that evolves from one round to the next. There's even a 'goal' they're 'trying' to get to. The best path each round is shown in green, and th...

^ ^ S ^ >>>>>>>>>>^ S ^ ^ TX T T T S S ^ | ^<<<<<<<<<< ^ ^ ^ Key: T,S: Towers >^<v|X: Path One problem I was thinking about: The enemies might follow the arrowed path, even after when you sell the S towers, because trying to modify the path a little bit gets too close to the T towers (see |X). Woul...

Re: Evolution Simulator
Whoa, I leave this thread for a few minutes, and you all plan out a game! I love it! I do like the idea of bringing evolving-paths into the game, so you need to plan out the geometry of your towers appropriately. That'd be a nice way to evolve something that's both tangible & visible (aka not just h...
