Oh cute! Nice and simple and also wildly complex.

Re: Gravity Art Megathread
Whoaaaa --- the spiraling on the sides...
And yeah, it's so frustrating that gifs are so bad at sharing some of the coolest stuff (with bunches of little particles).
Edit: oh, and I bumped up the allowed file size to 2MB. Maybe that'll help in the future.

Re: Level I made
Oh my goodness, I was so confident right through the 'fly-through-spikes' part of the level.
Also, appreciate how you set up the timing so when the level restarts, I'm very likely to instantly die.

Re: Minimum zoom and maximum sim speed, what are the limits?
Sounds like the full version would be right for you -- not only are the ranges increased (for zooming and time speed, which can range from x.01 to x10,000), but there are other unit-systems that could be helpful. That way you might not have to wait as long to run your simulation.

Re: Need a Hint?
I think I found the version you're testing out! That's a bit different than the one I'm working on at the moment, so beware, these rules will change in some iteration you play. But for now, in that version, the charge of a nucleus only lives on the protons. So if you move the positron down, you can ...

Hello fine folks here in the forums! I tend to be more active over in Discord these days -- or sharing little updates on Mastodon. But that doesn't mean I'm not still checking in here! There's no better place to go for Shocktopus levels. Which... makes sense. It'd be odd if the xkcd forums were the ...

Re: ION PACK (DIFFICULTY : HARD)
Oh my.
I don't know if there's a platonic ideal for a perfectly hard level in TES, but if there is, you've found it. Getting through 10% of each level was 100% stressful.
5/5 stars. Highly recommend.

Re: How do you determine which direction the gravitational force should pull on an object?
If you've just got one object pulling on another - gravity will pull them 'towards' one another. So the direction from one to the other.
If you're working with x-y coordinates, you can find the direction of the vector by using the difference of the objects' x and y coordinates.

Re: 3 body restricted problem
I'm not entirely sure the issue you're having, but let me brainstorm here a bit. It sounds like you calculated all the positions/velocities yourself? And then you plug them into the simulator, and the right thing isn't happening? I imagine you're using the Astronomical Units in the sim (hence AU, an...

Re: A confusing level full of magnetic fields
Oh my goodness that is amazing. And as you say, very hard. Love the notion that it's actually possible. So far I've died 66 times and have yet to make it across the bottom. I *think* I can, though!
