Re: Evolution Simulator
Whoa, I leave this thread for a few minutes, and you all plan out a game! I love it! I do like the idea of bringing evolving-paths into the game, so you need to plan out the geometry of your towers appropriately. That'd be a nice way to evolve something that's both tangible & visible (aka not ju...

I agree! I'm rearing to go on this. First, though, who's the point-person on the cloning project?

Hahaha... no. You keep asking nicely, though.19683 wrote:General relativity?
Please?
Honestly, though, I do want to make a sim/game about General Relativity. It'll probably zap my brain worse than Velocity Raptor did, but it'd be so damn cool!

Re: r^-5 "Orbital Decay"?
I thought that was do to rounding errors? It's both, together. If the circular orbit were stable (like in r^-2), rounding errors don't matter... the orbit self-corrects. And if there were no rounding errors, no perturbations, the stable vs unstable distinction wouldn't matter. It's like the proverb...

Re: r^-5 "Orbital Decay"?
Neat stuff! I wasn't thinking about dimensions when I added that feature... I was just looking to simply tweak the laws of physics and see what happens. But you're absolutely right. The simulator was envisioned as a 2D slice of a 3D world, but of course, it could just as well be a 2D slice of a 4D w...

Re: Evolution Simulator
Yup, the evolution simulator is still around, but on the back burner at the moment. I'd been having trouble nailing down exactly what the game should be like... so, as Robly said, I started working on Shocktopus instead (where the core idea was a lot clearer to me). The simulator started when I want...

Re: Welcome!
Hi, I'm 19683. Welcome! (Thanks to google) I know it's some large power of three. I sense there's a story behind that login? Hi. I agree, this way I don't have to fill Andy's inbox full of e-mails! A real time saver for me! ;) Then again, I imagine the forum might be its own time-sink... If I'm on ...
