Haha, spoiler read loud and clear.

I'd hate to get in the way of any addictions out there! So here's a little challenge/forum game -- beat the last creature someone posts here, head-on, on flat ground. It'll be interesting to compare down the road and see if (a) each champion is getting better and better, or (b) it's more about 'strategy' and finding the weakness in the previous opponent.

Creature 1 (295 generations, started with the two-legged creature, grew up on flat ground):

Beat that!

I will! (Erm, evolution will)

I don't know if anyone's noticed this before, but if a creature ever reaches 100 units,
SPOILER

the current generation immediately stops, and that creature "wins".

Spiked floors of course, and I believe I started from either the stick, or a 12-zeros creature.
Also, note the flag (the same as at the start), and that the 100 sign is different from the rest (100! as opposed to 60 and 80).
We've discussed the issue of creatures falling off the ground at the end, but I haven't seen anyone mention this specifically.

Also, I guess this means my joke earlier isn't entirely a joke:

They aren't evolving catapults to launch themselves off the edge yet? We must give them more time!
$1 = 100¢ = (10¢)^2 = ($0.10)^2 = $0.01 = 1¢ [1]
Always check your units or you will have no money!

Haha - I don't think anyone else had found that before. I had occasionally gotten there myself when I ran the thing long enough. Looks like they're going to have to evolve wings!

I have a question: I need help on evolving a stick creature, and including the correct variables neccessary to either beat or evolve into a creature similar to punch in the face. the problem? I don't know how to do that

I'm not entirely sure whether I understand your question, but here goes:

To evolve the creates, you basically just run the simulation repeatedly. Each round the creatures evolve and, over time, should on average get better and better. So if you start any of the creatures off against "Mr. Punch-in-the-Face" and hit evolve, eventually they'll be able to do it.

I think by 'variables' you're talking about the creature's code, which kinda works like a string of dna, encoding the creature's properties. It's a bit jumbled, so there's no simple way to edit that code directly.

I'm started to evolve a creature with this DNA :

Code: Select all

050400000000035076850
against tank. I will post results at around gen 250.
